How might ArenaNet and NCsoft better solve the bot problem?
(I used the search tool and didn't find a flexible problem-solving thread about bots; and I searched the compiled suggestions thread and didn't find an already-existing place that could properly serve the function of this thread. I don't offer a suggestion of my own and merely pose this question because I don't feel wise enough to substantially influence the ultimate direction of this thread so early.)
It appears to me that opinions about the root of the matter tend to be divided into 4 groups. Those that agree that there is a bot problem, those that want something done about the bot problem, those that display concern about the methodology of possible solutions to the problem, and those that believe that bots are a nuisance that isn't worth the requisite effort to fix. Might these four go ups of us work together to gradually come up with a way for the ArenaNet and NCsoft staff to accurately assess the elements and extent of the bot problem, stop a majority of the bot abuse, prevent problems in the way this goal is achieved, and make the companies' use of the solution seamless for us players who just want to play and not have to take responsibility for stopping other people's offenses?
If so, maybe we can assemble our relative grievances; develop, refine, and integrate our ideas to right them; express our procedural concerns and complexitive foresight; and arrive at an easy, practical, and presentable solution here.
Best regards,
Chris. Dratz
